55 Markets Identified as Targets for Area Developers
September 5, 2007, San Jose, Calif.- Based on the successful agreement executed with Orthopedic Surgeon and Sports Medicine Physician Dr. Kurt Ehlert for the Raleigh-Durham, NC market, management at Athletic Nation Franchise Corp. has launched an aggressive recruitment of Area Developer franchisee's nationwide.
According to company President Dennis Mulgannon, "We always knew that an Area Developer program was a strong fit for our gyms but we chose to wait for a "perfect fit" prior to rolling out the opportunity. With Kurt we have a true partner who has passion for what we are attempting to accomplish and we now understand the type of person that makes sense to grow a large area with us".
Mulgannon adds: "I think we have developed what would be considered a very equitable and lucrative opportunity for the right people. The fact that we are a "Lifestyle" business only adds to the desirability of our Area Developer program". |
What is an Area Developer program?
According to Manny Petersen, Director of Development:
"An Area Developer acts as an extension of the franchisor in a specific geographic market. They are responsible for the franchise sales, development and on-going support in the area that is being developed. Each Area Developer is required to own a minimum of one gym which is used as a regional training facility for new franchise gym owners."
The Area Developer shares in the revenue derived from franchise fees and on-going royalties directly with the franchisor company. Petersen says: "This type of program allows us to get a foothold and traction in the 55 largest metropolitan areas in the U.S. and have an immediate impact in terms of local growth of our gyms".
Target areas: Any county or MSA (Metropolitan Statistical Area) with a population that exceeds one million people.
